I love trains, especially indian ones. They feel like tiny home on wheels and, while may not be particulary clean, they offer this feeling of freedom when you lean out of moving train or just sit near open doors and watch things whiz by. Indians are very communicative and move frequently from car to car, so it's a great chance to meet new friends and just kill some time.
15 minutes of fame
Quick info: we finally got to northern part of India, specifically - Assam. We stayed with a new friend we met on a train from Chennai to Guwahati. Train ride was a whole story in itself, more about that in a separate post.
Everyone who have visited India knows, that being foreigner sometimes can give you a celebrity status. That being said, I couldn't imagine that I would give "thank you" speech on a stage before 200 or so people.
Krrish 3
Saw it in a theater. Expected something totally different, got silly sci-fi - mix between Superman and X-men. 80 rupees. Entertaining, but not worth it.
Moving north
Nothing new happened during the last days so I didn't write anything, but to keep blog alive, here is the summary of what we have been up to. We are trying to get to Kolkata, but trains are full (this is normal in India, all tickets should be bought at least week prior to planned departure), so in two days we drove from Kochi (left side of India) to Chennai (right side). Last bus ride took us 11 hours, but luckily was during the night.
Hiking in Munnar
Here, in Munnar, trekking/hiking is very popular, at least that is my understanding by constant questions whether we want guides for that. I haven't seen anyone hiking around, but the place is indeed very suitable for a walk. So, pumped up from previous climb to the nearby mountain, we decided to find (just by looking around) highest mountain and go into it's general direction, hoping to reach and climb it.
