Note about Artur: last week he decided to stay longer in Assam to do some work, so I continued alone. We will meet again after 2-3 days.

Tourists need permit to enter Sikkim, fortunately, this process is relatively painless and can be done in an hour. While here, I visited 2 cities - Gangtok (capital of Sikkim) and Pelling (main tourist attraction).

Moving from location to location is done by jeeps through very scenic mountains, sometimes on the edge of VERY deep valleys. Each ride on average is 4-5 hours long and is well worth it. I would even say, it is worth even if you don't stay in cities themselves.

Gangtok

Gangtok is located on the ridge of beautiful and deep valley, surrounded by mountains. It's clean, modern and relatively small city. You can spend here two days before going further. There isn't much else to see to stay longer.

Pelling

Pelling is very small town, with amazing view of Himalayas and Kanchenjanga, even though during my stay, mountains were mostly hidden behind clouds. It's quiet here. Tourists are few and local people unobtrusive.
